How We Calculate Your Shipping Costs

  1. 01Actual weight

    The packed parcel goes on a scale at our Mumbai warehouse. This is the weight after consolidation and repacking, not the weight the seller shipped.

  2. 02Volumetric weight

    Length × width × height in centimetres, divided by 5000. A light, bulky parcel takes the space of a heavy one on an aircraft, so carriers price it as if it were.

  3. 03Chargeable weight

    The higher of the two. This is the figure every carrier prices against, and the one the calculator above shows you before anything is booked.

  4. 04Destination and service

    Rates run postcode to postcode, not country to country. Remote-area coverage, the service level you choose and current route restrictions all move the figure.

  5. 05Duties, taxes and clearance

    Charged by your country, not by us, and never included in a shipping figure. They depend on the declared contents and value, and are paid at import.

Consolidate your orders

Let us repack

Retail boxes are mostly air. Removing outer packaging and repacking to the parcel's real size cuts volumetric weight, which is what you are charged on when a parcel is bulky.

Watch the dimensions, not just the scale

A parcel measuring 40 × 40 × 40 cm is charged at 12.8 kg however little it weighs. Shaving a few centimetres off a box can be worth more than removing an item.

Hold and combine

We can hold your packages while the rest of your order arrives, so a later purchase travels in the same parcel rather than paying its own way.

Declare accurately

An accurate declaration clears customs faster and avoids the storage and re-inspection charges that a held parcel accumulates. Underdeclaring costs more than it saves.
